NIGERIAN pop star, Wizkid, has become the first Afro-pop artiste to appear in the Guinness Book of World Records. This is as a result of his contribution to Canadian rapper, Drake’s smah hit, ‘One Dance’, which topped several charts worldwide. Although the song is technically Drake‘s single, Wizkid has songwriting credits for the ‘One Dance’ which has the Guinness World Record as the most played song on Spotify with over one billion streams. The 2018 edition of the Guinness World Record named Wizkid in its most recent book.

The Director-General of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, Mr John Inaku, has confirmed the death of fifteen people who lost their lives in 21 communities in severe flooding in Cross River in July and August this year. Four major streets in Calabar South, including Goldie, Target, Yellow-Duke, Ekpo-Abasi and others were heavily flooded after a down pour early on Monday. Inaku listed Local Government Areas in the state affected by flooding as Obudu, Yala, Ogoja, Boki, Etung, Ikom, Obubra, Abi, Biase, Akamkpa, Odukpani and Calabar South. According to him, no fewer than 21 communities in 12 Local Government Areas in the state have been flooded with thousands of residents displaced. There is tension in Anambra State following reported death of over 50 worshipers as gunmen launched early morning attack during a Sunday service.
